2020 Movement R&D Round 1 Grantees

We launched the 2020 Movement R&D cycle as a way to renew our collective commitment to the work of our past grantees.  As we were receiving applications, the realities of the Covid-19 pandemic hit us all, and our grantees in particular.  

In the midst of their already powerful and necessary organizing, our movement partners reached out to tell us about how they were coping and to name their needs in this moment. 

Our response after a dynamic process of listening and hearing was to further focus the R&D cycle and aim to move money to as many past grantees as possible. We decided on a minimum of two rounds of grants.  In the first round of grants we moved resources to 56 organizations who are facing considerable threats in the current moment. These organizations constitute some of the most powerful organizing happening across the nation.
